When the skin over the upper eyelids becomes loose and heavy, it can cause the eyelids to droop and affect the overall vision. It may also be cosmetically unappealing and make the patient appear “older” or “tired.” Our oculoplastic specialists can remove the excess skin, “lifting” the eyelid using an incision that is nearly invisible. This procedure may be covered by insurance if severe enough or may be performed cosmetically if it is not affecting vision.
